XGS-PON (10 Gigabit portable symmetrical passive optical network) is a symmetrical PON (Passive Optical Network) technology with both upstream and downstream speeds of 10Gbps. XGS-PON is an evolved version of XG-PON technology, both of which belong to 10G PON technology. However, XGS-PON is symmetrical while XG-PON is asymmetrical, with an upstream rate of 2.5Gbps and a downstream rate of 10Gbps.
